Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel
SUMMER SCHEDULE
May 1 to September 30: Open daily 5:30 am to 11:15 pm
CLOSURE NOTICE: On Thurday May 20, 2010 the tunnel will be closed
from 7:45 AM until 12 NOON for paving.
Unfortunately, due to the location of the paving, there is no way to install a detour.
A short closure is our only option. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please Note: The Whittier Chamber of Commerce has canceled the "Walk To Whittier" for 2010.

Traffic starts at 5:30 a.m., continuing until 11:15 p.m. during the summer, accommodating vehicles most of the time.
Unscheduled trains using the tunnel in addition to the regularly scheduled passenger trains may cause occasional 15 to 30 minute delays. Please plan with this possibility in mind.
* Oversize vehicles are allowed only on Monday through Thursday at these times.

Motorcycle helmets must be worn in the tunnel, and convertible vehicles must have the top in place.

...TO FACILITATE THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC, PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE AT THE STAGING AREA TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHEDULED OPENING.
