U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens home in Girdwood was raided by Federal Agents on Monday, July 30. Investigators armed with a search warrant from both the IRS and FBI spent a full day taking photos and videos of Stevens’ first floor addition and other remodeling work, which has come under scrutiny by federal investigators. The feds are looking into work on the Senator’s house that might have been done by Veco and contractors hired or supervised by Veco in 2000.

Federal investigators were swarming all over Sen. Stevens’ home July 30, pulling down the curtains on the second floor and climbing ladders onto his metal roof to take photos and videos of work done by contractors. Federal agents also were seen hauling out items in a garbage bag. The Feds are looking into the work on Stevens’ home to determine if it was done legally with no political favoritism to Veco, an oil field services firm. The first floor addition of Stevens’ home is alleged to have been overseen by Veco CEO Bill Allen. Stevens reportedly paid for all the work done on his home.
