The long awaited opening of the Girdwood Library and Community Center will take place with a soft opening May 20. A grand opening is scheduled for May 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Some of the notable political leaders that will attend the event are Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich, and U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski.
