We have been getting many questions about what FVCS will be offering during the summer. Current Assistant Coordinator Kelly Bandoch will continue with us through the summer, and in addition to that role, she will be the head Summer Playground Leader. Kelly is a certified teacher, and has been long-term substitute teaching this whole school year, and just loves spending time with the kids! We will be hiring additional leaders for our summer programs. Summer Play-ground leaders provide a fun, creative, recreational youth summer program. They plan, organize and conduct all activities. They schedule field trips, obtain supplies and create parent correspondence and field trip permission forms. Minimum qualifications include college degree with education and early childhood classes, and previous recreational program /summer camp experiences are a plus. Alaska driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid required. The application deadline is Friday, May 18 by 5 p.m. Applications are available at the FVCS office. Please call 742-5317 for more information.
We are working on the age ranges we will be serving through Four Valleys Summer Playground. These and many other adventures await the lucky science campers! Camp fee is $200.
Intermediate Science Camp, June 8, & 10-15 is for youth going into grades 4-6.
