U.S. Alpine Championships
Alyeska Resort is preparing for the upcoming U.S. Alpine Championships March 27. Below is a list of events and dates of the competition:

Opening Ceremonies
Friday, March 27
outside the Daylodge at 7pm

• March 26 - FIS Downhill
• March 27 - Championship Downhill
• March 28 - Super G
• March 29 - Slalom
• March 30 - Women’s Giant Slalom
• March 31 - Men’s Giant Slalom

6th Annual Jeff Nissman Telepalooza Festival & World Telemark Free-Skiing Championships
This 5 day celebration from April 1– 5 brings together members of the telemark community for a series of clinics, races, demos, live music, beacon games and lots of fun. The World Championships take place April 1 -3 and will showcase the best telemark skiers in the world on Alyeska’s challenging terrain. Weekend Fun Races include an Uphill/Downhill, Dual Slalom and Classic Race and lots of kid’s events. The Sitzmark will host nightly parties with live music and “Wild West” themed costume contests.

Free movie “North to Alaska” to be shown at Sitzmark
Carpathian Ski Company presents a FREE movie premiere “North to AK” Wednesday April 1 at 8 p.m. at the Sitzmark. This documentary film follows big mountain skier Jake Young through three 2008 competitions in Alaska. Donations will be accepted for Challenge Alaska.

March has been good to skiers and snowboarders at Alyeska Resort. The month has provided plenty of sun and fresh powder. The mountain is expected to remain open until April 26.
