Volunteers make Mountain Metal Mayhem a success

To the Editor:

Thanks for Mountain Metal Mayhem!
Girdwood Parks and Rec and the Skate Park Committee would like to thank the following people for making the MMM a success: cat operator John Leary, Fran Byerly, Gates Kessler, Davey North, and Warren Rowe who worked late into the night to set up the rails and other grinding devices, and Jay Bell, who got the sound going. Who was that great MC? A big thank-you to him!
Alyeska Resort, as always, was generous with their staff and, of course, provided the perfect venue. The trophy was truly “one of a kind” as well!
We are optimistic about getting phase 1 of the new park ordered this summer, and the MMM was a great fundraiser.
We are still selling T shirts and rubber “Ride Girdwood” bracelets, at Silvertip and Java Haus as well.
