3 Lessons for $99

Get three beginner lessons for any time in April. (Save $110!) Package includes beginner group ski or snowboard lesson, rental gear and lower mountain lift ticket. Sign up at the Mountain Learning Center desk in the Daylodge or call 754-2280 for more information. Offer valid through April 29 for skiers age 5 and up and riders age 8 and up.

Spring Lift Hours

The days are getting longer and the sun is higher in the sky, which can only mean that spring is almost here. Get ready for corn snow, goggle tans, beers on the Sitz deck and a little more time on the slopes in the afternoon. Beginning April 1, the chairlifts will run from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Peter Rowan

Grammy-award winner Peter Rowan and his rock band The Free Mexican Airforce return to the Sitzmark stage for three nights April 5 - 7. From his early years with bluegrass patriarch Bill Monroe to his stint in Old & In the Way with Jerry Garcia, Rowan is a legend on so many fronts and a cornerstone in Alaska’s winter music scene. Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 day of show, with buy one get one free Thursday night tickets. Advance tickets for all Sitzmark shows are available online or by calling 754-2275. Show starts at 9 p.m., 21 and over only.

Pond Café Easter Brunch

The Pond Café will offer an Easter Brunch Buffet featuring all your favorites on April 8, with seatings at 8 am, 10 a.m., noon and 2 .m. This long-standing tradition is perfect for families and featured dishes include honey baked ham, prime rib, made-to-order omelets, king crab benedict and grilled halibut. Adults $38, Kids 6-12 $16, Kids under 5 free. Call 754-2237 to make a reservation.

Easter Fun

Mountain Top Easter Sunrise Service at Glacier Express will take place from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., with Tram uploads beginning at 6:45 a.m. Bring the kids to meet the Easter Bunny at the Hotel Pond Courtyard for a lively Easter egg hunt beginning at 9:15 a.m.

Open Mic Mondays

The tradition of open mic talent continues in Glacier Valley this winter. Join your hostess Julia Dykstra at the Sitzmark every Monday night. Come perform your heart out and be discovered by friends and strangers. Sign up starts at 8 p.m. and music starts at 9 p.m.

Absolut Trivia

Head to the Sitzmark every Wednesday for Absolut Trivia Night in March and April. Teams of up to six people can compete in this epic battle of wits. All players will be entered in a raffle to win a private snowcat for twelve, and additional raffle tickets will be awarded to those who purchase Absolut cocktails. Games begin at 8 p.m.

Lost Marauders

From the heart of the L.A. indie music scene, Lost Marauders are known as one of the hardest acts to follow when it comes to sheer intensity, soul, and volume. This rock band returns to the Sitzmark on April 13 and 14. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online or by calling 754-2275. Show starts at 9 p.m., 21 and over only.

Kassiks Beer Dinner

Alyeska and Kassik’s Brewery are hosting a beer dinner on Sunday, April 15 at the Sitzmark Bar & Grill. Kassik’s is a small microbrewery located in North Kenai since 2006. A special three-course menu designed by Chef Jason Porter will be paired with selected brews. Dinner will be served between 7 and 10 p.m. and the cost is $39 per person. A representative from Kassik’s will be on hand to answer questions and share information about the brewery.

Seven Glaciers Sunday Special

New this winter, Seven Glaciers has introduced a Sunday $49 Prix Fixe Menu served between 5 and 9 p.m. every Sunday during the ski season. This three-course menu is a unique and affordable way to sample Chef Jason Porter’s carefully crafted selections combined with the panoramic views and exceptional service that make Seven Glaciers such a special dining experience. Grgich Hills Estate Wine Dinner

The final Wine Dinner of the winter season will feature Grgich Hills Estate, producers of world class wines in Napa Valley. This iconic winery farms 366 acres naturally, without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, and the result is handcrafted food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines. The dinner is scheduled for Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m. Seatings cost $165 per person and reservations can be made by calling 754-2237 or online at OpenTable.com.

Spring Carnival

It’s time to celebrate Spring Carnival featuring the Taco Bell Slush Cup! Half of the Slush Cup competitors will be selected at the KWHL Costume Contest at the Sitzmark on Friday, April 20 at 8 p.m., followed by live music with the Photonz. The remaining spots will be chosen right before the Slush Cup, which starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. The Photonz will rock the Sitzmark both Friday and Saturday nights. Alyeska Resort encourages responsible consumption of alcohol and highly recommends a designated driver. Outside alcohol is not permitted and will be confiscated. Thanks for cooperating. The fun continues on Sunday, April 22, with the Dummy Downhill and XTRATUF Tug-of-War. Check online for the full schedule.
