Community volunteers go above and beyond to keep playground safe
To the Editor:
On a rainy, nasty day in October, Girdwood Rotary and John Gallup once again showed what they are made of by working in the kids’ playground to get it ready for winter. Screws were tightened, leaves were raked and all the equipment was power washed. Girdwood Parks and Recreation would like to thank these community volunteers for going above and beyond what anyone could ask.
The weather was outright nasty, yet these folks said they would do the job and they did! Thank you so much for helping keep our playground safe and clean for the kids as well as setting an example of what community volunteers contribute to make things better for the residents of Girdwood.
