Snow is in the air, the mountains have their winter blankets, and all the leaves have fallen. Halloween is right around the corner, and excitement is in the air. A few foggy mornings we have woken up to icy windows, a little reminder that our fall is almost over. These days Hope is pretty quiet; in the evenings, when we step outside you can hear for miles – Bear Creek rushing down its banks, and the wind blowing in the trees.
It seems that one can smell and taste the upcoming winter in the air. It’s time again to dust off those layers of cold weather gear. With winter knocking on our door, be sure to get your vehicles winterized, and change the summer tires for the studded ones. It’s also time to begin the tedious, never-ending chore of keeping the fire going.

Poem Of The Month
Halloween
The air is cold; the leaves have fallen.
I hear Halloween calling.
Foggy nights can make for some frights.
Candy bags full sweets,
Costumed kids hoping for treats.
The only night of the year
when it’s fair to be scared.
Halloween, a spooky fun time
for all ages and those in between.
