Whittier Election Results
Whittier held its General Municipal Election Tuesday, Oct. 4. Two City Council seats were open, three-year terms for seats E and F.
For Seat E, unofficial results placed David Pinquoch ahead with 80 votes, followed by Billy Collins with 45 votes. Peter Denmark received one vote.
For Seat F, incumbent Mayor Lester Lunceford was ahead with 64 votes, Shannon Tolman – who decided to leave Seat E and run for Seat F – had 47 votes, and Arlen Arneson 21 votes.
Proposition 1, which would raise property taxes from 5 to 8 percent, was supported by a margin of 5 votes with 58 votes in favor and 53 opposed. Twenty-six votes were blank.
There are still 25 absentee ballots to be counted on Oct. 11 before the results become official.
