My restaurant pick of the week is The Starfish Restaurant in Grand Isle, Louisiana where I’m visiting. We drove in a convertible Mustang from New Orleans to Grand Isle. We saw the devastation of Tropical Storm Irene and crossed many bridges that lead over the Bayou. It’s a strange place Grand Isle, kind of like Homer, Alaska.

You feel like you’re at the end of the road. The restaurant is the town hang out and the waitresses eat the daily special. I ordered the special because it was Country Style Steak with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, a drink and peach cobbler, for the economical price of $7.95.

I don’t usually publish prices, but this was a delicious deal. My table mates all ordered seafood because we were at the ocean and a Gator Po’Boy was the other special. The steak was served with brown and white gravy. Yum! The Starfish Restaurant, 3027 Hwy 1 Grand Island, Louisiana. For more information: (985) 787-2711.
