Top: Local wood carver Jordan Anderson, 25, has returned from Oregon to his wood carving base in Bird. Anderson won a gold medal in the quick carving competition at the Reedsport World Championship carving competition in Reedsport, Ore. He’s won three golds at the competition in the last two years. He kneels in front of one of his wood carvings of an octopus with his medals. Jordan’s been carving for six years. You can find more of his carvings on display and for sale at Mile 100 in Bird in front of the massive log home his family built.
Bottom: His brother Jason, 30, is also a wood carver and has halibut chairs that he carved for sale.
