New Glacier District Ranger On The Job

The Glacier Ranger District welcomes Tim Charnon as the new District Ranger for the Girdwood Office. Tim earned a master’s degree in forest management from the Yale School of Forestry and has worked for the Forest Service since 1991. He had previous assignments in Oregon and Montana before coming to the Glacier District in 2002 as the Recreation Staff Officer.

Tim is excited to continue his working shaping and coordinating the programs on the District. His strong love and appreciation of the outdoors and outdoor recreation activities make Tim an ideal leader for the District. Tim’s participation as little league coach, cub scout den leader, and volunteer at the local radio station also make him a valuable asset to the community and people of Girdwood.  Tim, his wife Betty, and two sons live in Girdwood.
