Forest Fair Parking Available at the Daylodge

Patrons of Forest Fair can park their cars at the Daylodge parking lot and catch Girdwood Valley Transit to the fairgrounds. Alyeska Mountain Shop will be running a Tent Sale in the Daylodge parking lot that weekend. This is the perfect pit stop for people catching the bus over to the festival to stock up on last minute items or to pick up some Alyeska logo wear and accessories. The tent will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4.

Mountain Bike Criterium Race July 17

Alyeska Resort hosts the mountain bike Criterium Race on Saturday, July 17. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Tram Ticket Office and the race will start at 11 a.m. There will be divisions for Expert, Sport, and Beginner, and the race is open to all ages. Call 754-2275 for more information.

Punch Brothers Come to Alyeska

The sound of bluegrass music will fill the Girdwood valley again on July 23 and 24 when critically acclaimed act Punch Brothers performs on the Daylodge lawn. Punch Brothers, featuring Chris Thile, is one of the most talented working bands in contemporary music. Their style has been described as introducing “bluegrass instrumentation and spontaneity in the structures of modern classical,” or more simply as “a string-band version of Radiohead.” Tickets are $20 in advance or $30 day of show. Seven Glaciers Restaurant Serves Up Summer Menu

In an effort to capture the easy sprit and sunny tastes of the season, Seven Glaciers Restaurant introduces a Seasonal Summer Menu. The revolving selections will feature locally grown and caught seafood, game and produce. A sample menu for July 4 – 22 includes Pistachio Crusted Sea Scallops and Seared Sockeye Salmon. Check online for upcoming sample menus. Girdwood residents can ride the Tram for only $6 after 5:00 p.m., the perfect excuse to enjoy a drink or appetizer in the bar with the best view in the valley.

Rodney Strong Wine Dinner at Seven Glaciers

Seven Glaciers continues their Wine Dinner series on Monday, July 26 at 7 p.m. The featured vintner is Rodney Strong Vineyards, one of the pioneers of Sonoma County's modern wine industry. Vice president and director of Winemaking Rick Sayre will be on hand at the dinner to share the Rodney Strong story. Each selected wine will be paired with a carefully crafted Chef's Tasting Menu. 18-Hole Disc Golf Course Construction Soon Underway

Alyeska has purchased nine holes of disc golf and obtained nine additional holes from the Muni. Once construction of the Verbier Way road project is complete, crews will begin setting up an 18-hole course from the top of the tram down to the Hotel Alyeska. Golfers will have the option to either play nine holes at the base area or purchase a Tram ticket or hike to the top and play the full 18-hole course.

Verbier Way Summer Construction Update

Verbier Way road project is expected to be substantially complete by August 1. Granite Construction crews are currently working on putting in utilities. After completion of Verbier, the Winner Creek Extension Trail will be connected to the Verbier bike path and open to the public. The Winner Creek Extension Trail Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held during Blueberry Festival and will include guided hikes on the new trail. Please be aware of vehicles and hazards while hiking on summer mountain roads and construction sites as well as by the super pipe and Chair 7 area.
