Did you know that your Four Valleys Community School is the only community school left in Alaska? Thank you to all who participate in, volunteers for, and contribute funds. Without your help, we would not be here.
In celebration of the volunteers who keep our communities running so well, the FVCS hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Barbeque on Saturday, June 6, at the Marlow Pavilion. The barbeque brought together people to celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of all of our local organizations. Attendees enjoyed a gorgeous sunny day, excellent food cooked by FVCS board members, and an awards presentation for outstanding volunteers from the community. Recipients were: Sarah and Katie Cronk and Ruth and Barry Kircher (play set design and painting) for the PTA, Rebecca Reichlin (continuous and over the top contributions both in front- and behind- the scenes) for FVCS all 60—yes, 60!—firefighter and EMS volunteers for the Fire Department, Ron Burson (past president) for Rotary, Kerrie Dowd (rummage sale days) for Little Bears, Karen Rakos (Decades long DJ who commutes from anchorage) for the Glacier City Radio and all of the fantastic and dedicated committee members for the Forest Fair.
Overall 2009-2010 Community Service Awards went to Sean Stash who designed, built and also maintains the Frisbee golf course and who is also the Head Ski Trail Groomer, and Joan Lower who is a long time Little Bears playhouse board member and volunteer at events benefiting children. Mark your calendar for next year's event.

FVCS Needs Your Help
We are working on a request for proposals for a computer system hardware and software update so that registration and programming can occur online as well as in person. We would like to partner with local experts. If you have expertise in this area, or know someone who does, please let us know.
