Take your freestyle skills to the next level at Alyeska Summer Camp: two sessions June 7 to 18. Crews will set up a terrain park in the bowl and a super pipe is also in the works. Camp is open to all ages of intermediate level and above (must be comfortable on Chair 6 terrain.) Find low coach-to-camper ratio to ensure you get lots of personal attention. Register online.
Sitzmark Bar & Grill
The Sitzmark is open Friday through Sunday in May with live music every Friday and Saturday night. Upcoming events include a fundraiser for Four Valleys Community School and live music with Loose Gravel and Totally Far Fetched. The Eric McFadden Trio will take the stage on Memorial Day weekend, May 29 and 30. Don't miss this chance to see an important musician perform in the intimate Sitzmark setting. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance by calling 754-2275.
Summer Construction
Work has resumed on the Verbier road project and crews plan to have the job completed by the end of August. Granite Construction will continue to transport rock from the road project to the super pipe in order to increase the height of the dirt walls from five feet to twelve feet. Creating these bigger walls will save on snowcat time and snowmaking resources in future super pipe maintenance.
Best of Luck
Two long-time members of the Alyeska Resort family said farewell this month after more than 30 years on the job. Peter Zug retired as Ski Patrol Director and Jill Veatch, executive administrator extraordinaire, accepted a new position at the Girdwood Clinic. They will both be missed.
