May Skiing
Sunday, April 25 will be the last day of the regular ski season, but this year the resort will be open on the weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. including Memorial Day. Skiers upload and download the Tram and ride Chair 6. May lift ticket prices are $40 for adults, $35 for students/seniors/military and $30 for kids 8 to 13. The Columbia Deck with be open on weekends, a great spot to relax between runs in the sun. The Sitzmark will be open Friday through Sunday in May, with live music every Friday and Saturday night. The Mountain Learning Center will offer private lessons in May for intermediate levels and above for $60 per hour. May skiing is weather dependant, so make sure to check the website or call the SKI-SNOW (754-7669) hotline before heading to the resort.
Season Pass Spring Sale
2010-11 season passes go on sale May 1 Early bird pricing will be in effect until May 31, so buy now and save up to 20 percent and more off regular price. If you buy next year's pass now, you can use it to ski and ride this May and use it all summer for sightseeing and hiking access on the Tram. Passes are available online, by calling 754-2275 or at the Season Pass Office at The Hotel Alyeska.
Global Alliance for Africa Fundraiser
Local volunteers are hosting a fundraiser for Global Alliance for Africa, a program dedicated to improving the lives of African children affected by HIV/AIDS. The family friendly benefit concert will include live music with Homegrown featuring Melissa Mitchell and a variety of other musicians. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20 at the Sitzmark and a $5 donation is requested.
Alyeska Motor Madness
The Alaska Motor Musher Club will host a weekend of Alyeska Motor Madness from April 30 to May 2. Events include a Hill Climb, Hill Cross, Cross Country, Drag Race and Freestyle Show. Go to ammcracing.com for details.
Summer Camp
Alyeska Summer Camp will offer small group coaching in your own private terrain park. Camp is open to all ages of intermediate and above skiers and snowboarders who can ski and ride Chair 6 terrain. Check online or call 754-2545 for more information.
