Patrol Benefit Update
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Ski Patrol Avalanche Dog Program during their benefit auction on Feb. 5. Eleven patrollers braved the catwalk and enthusiastic bidders pledged $2,270 for early morning turns and lunch with their favorite. Factoring in raffle and t-shirt sales, the benefit raised over $5,000 for the program, and proceeds will go towards food, health care and training for the dogs. The “Dogs Dig Me” t-shirts will remain on sale at the Sitzmark. Congrats to raffle winner Alison Rein, enjoy those pontoons.
North Face Vertical Challenge
Are you up for the challenge? The second annual Vertical Challenge endurance competition will prove who can get the most runs on Alyeska's North Face in one day. The race will take place on Monday, March 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a men's and women's division, but no categories for specific equipment. Registration forms online or at the Ticket Office.
Safety Tip from Ski Patrol
There is lots more powder to come this season, so please get ready to be a safe skier and rider. Make sure to get your equipment tuned routinely. Alaska State law requires either a safety strap or ski brakes. When stopping for a break mid-run, make sure you can be seen from above. If you need help, ask any employee for Ski Patrol assistance. Have a great spring riding season.
Food and Wine Delight
Save the date: Sunday, March 28 brings two very special wineries from California to Seven Glaciers Restaurant, Silver Oak and Twomey Cellars. This promises to be an evening of unmatched wine and food excellence that you don't want to miss. A second dinner will take place on April 25, featuring Banfi wines.
