Alyeska Ski Patrol Wins National Award
National Ski Patrol has recently awarded Alyeska Ski Patrol the National Outstanding Large Alpine Patrol Award for 2009. This award represents Alyeska Ski Patrol's commitment to safety, teamwork and overall service to the sport of skiing and riding. The resort competed with nine other patrols to win this year's award. Alyeska is justifiably proud of our committed team of paid patrol, volunteer patrol and snow safety.
Oxygen & Octane Expo
October 16 - 18 the Oxygen & Octane Expo will take place at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage. Show times are October 16 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.; October 17 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and October 18 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission to the show is free and door prizes are plentiful, so make sure to check out the Alyeska booth and get ready for winter!
Ski and Snowboard Swap
Whether you are looking for new winter gear, or just looking to get rid of some old gear, swaps are a great way to find that perfect set of skis or boots at a great price. The Girdwood Community All Sports Swap will take place on October 24 in the Daylodge from noon – 5 p.m. Alaska's oldest and largest sports swap is at West High School on November 7 & 8 from noon – 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Warren Miller's New Movie
Warren Miller's latest film “Dynasty” will have its Alaska premier Oct. 27 at the Alaska Center for Performing Arts. Narrated by Johnny Moseley, “Dynasty” blends fresh footage with vintage clips from the past six decades of WM footage. Show times are 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and ticket price is $15.50. Pick up your movie tickets at World Cup Sports. Everyone attending the movie will receive a voucher good for one 50 percent off midweek Alyeska Resort lift ticket.
Ski Movies at The Hotel Alyeska
Winter is in the air, and Alyeska is featuring a series of ski and snowboard movies in the hotel on Friday evenings to get you ready for winter, craving snow and wishing you were out there riding. Check our website for more info.

Verbier Construction Underway
Construction continues on Verbier Road. Verbier is located just past Brighton on the way to the hotel. The paved road and attached bike path will veer uphill and connect to Crystal Mountain Road. Granite Construction has been busy clearing trees, removing fill and as some of you may have noticed, blasting rock. Construction is scheduled to be completed next June.
Aurora Bar & Grill Fall Special
Aurora weekly bar specials continue through the fall season. Chef Porter's refined comfort food is perfectly paired with a $3 draft beer. Specials for the week of October 15-19 are three sliders with caramelized onions and cheese for $9 and the week of October 22 – 26 will feature mini Philly cheese steaks for $4 each. Beer brats with sauerkraut are available from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 for $4 each. Aurora is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
