Volunteers contribute to making soccer program a success
To the Editor,
The Four Valleys Soccer Board would like to thank all the volunteers who help make the local soccer program a success. This year we worked on improving drainage on the field, which tends to hold water after rainstorms. A work party took place on Saturday, Sept. 19, where we removed the sod from the worst section of the field; drained the water; filled in with many many wheelbarrow loads of sand and soil; and laid new sod. We want to thank all the volunteers who helped out with this project with an extra thanks to John Gallup. As the GBOS Parks and Recreation Supervisor, John was instrumental in all aspects of this project. He, along with Steve and Eileen Halverson, got an assessment of the field completed. They determined what needed to be done and organized supplies and equipment for the work party.
Of course the project could not have been done without the help of everyone else who showed up.
Thank you to the following volunteers: Konrad, Aleska, Gilly and Sebbie Mittelstadt; Alison and Jean Rein; Danika Donnelly; Paul, Barb and Nick Crews; Ely Cerutti; Stephen Van den Hoogen; Alex Erickson; Kevin Kelly; Soren Johannsen; Eileen, Steve, Talia and Zach Halverson; Betty Charnon; Heather and Reiker Durtschi; Doug, Laurie, Kai and Kintla Penn.
