Halloween Kid's Carnival
Alyeska Resort and Girdwood School PTA will host a Kid's Carnival and Haunted House on Oct. 31 from 4-7 p.m. at the Daylodge. Activities include games, costume contest, refreshments and lots of fun for little ones in a safe and warm environment. Tickets $3 per person or $10 per family, proceeds benefit Girdwood School computers.
Halloween Concert
Following the Kid's Carnival, the Daylodge will be transformed into a party to die for starting at 9 p.m. Live music by Chill Factor with John Tracy should get the dance floor hopping. Cash bar and food available until midnight. Dress in costume and receive $5 off entry at the door and a chance to win the costume contest. Tickets $5 in advance or $10 at the door. Football Season Specials
Aurora Bar & Grill will feature a rotating weekly bar special through the month of November that can be paired with a $3 draft beer. Upcoming specials include Hot Dog Sliders (Coney Island, Chicago, and Tijuana) for the week of Oct. 1-5 and Halibut Tacos with Mango Salsa for the week of Oct 8-12. Season Passes on sale
Season passes are on sale now and can be purchased either online or at the Tram Ticket Office. Preseason pricing ends Oct. 31. Ticket office hours are 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily through Oct. 18 and will be open weekends only through the end of October. Beginning Nov. 1 office hours will be 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wed - Sun. Passes can also be picked up in Anchorage at the Dimond Center Mall booth (in front of Forever 21) beginning Oct. 3 on weekends from noon until 6 p.m.
Children's ski camp expanded
Powder Blasters, a popular children's ski camp for ages 5 to 13, has been expanded to take place every Saturday and Sunday through the ski season. The program will begin on Dec 5 and run through April 25. Call 754-2275 for more info. Also new this season at MLC is the option to have lessons video taped with a helmet cam. Students can view progress on the hill and immediately after their lesson they will receive a DVD or thumb drive to take with them. Helmet cams will also be available to rent by guests who are not taking lessons.
