School is back in session and spawned out salmon are returning to their final resting place. The last of the tourists are headed home while the season winds down to the much anticipated spectacular display of autumn foliage.

Fall is certainly in the air. Last chance to pack the freezer full of fish and fresh berries. For all those who love the long days of summer, there is still reason to celebrate throughout the Turnagain Arm area.

Love Life Music in Hope has a good ring to it. The talented musical duo of Milo Matthews and Shawn Zuke are sure to be uplifting while enhancing the beautiful vistas of the Arm. For all those that want to stick close to Girdwood there is always fun to be had at the Silvertip. The summer is not yet complete until you have experienced the 2nd Annual Blueberry Fest at Alyeska Resort and remember to set aside a day or two to attend the Alaska State Fair.

Especially at this time of the year, the saying “the best things in life are free” rings true. Tons of fun to be had berry picking in the forest. Watch your back, bears like berries too.
