Winterfest 2009 kicks off
Celebrate the winter season at Alyeska Resort’s Winterfest 2009 on February 5-8. To kick off the weekend Alyeska is offering 2 for 1 night skiing lift tickets on Thursday Feb. 5. Blueberry Hill Terrain Park Events
Friday night, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. sharpen your terrain park skills at the Blueberry Hill Terrain Park Orientation. Saturday, Feb. 7 Winterfest events include discounted snowshoe tours with AK Backcountry, kid’s fun race, face painting and 4-Trax sled rides.
A Blueberry Hill Terrain Park Freestyle Competition will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Entry fee is $10. Bring your little ones to the “Kid’s Night Out” in the Daylodge. Activities include an inflatable bouncy house, mechanical surfboard, arts and crafts and a pizza party. Entry fee is $10. Mountain Learning Center offers ski lessons for all levels
Alyeska’s Mountain Learning Center offers a variety of lesson options for kids and adults. Group and private lessons are available 7 days a week at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Our ski & snowboard camps are a great way to get your kids outside and active over Spring Break, with camps available from ages 4 and up and open to all levels of skiing and riding. Lessons aren’t just for the kids. Our Women’s Midweek Ski & Snowboard Clinics will help you improve your skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. Clinic dates are Wednesdays March 25, and April 1, 8 and 15.
When you’re ready to take it to the next level, Kim Reichhelm, 2 time World Extreme Skiing Champion, and Garth McPhie, Alyeska Resort Mountain Learning Center Director, are teaming up for a Steep Skiing Camp from March 24–30.
