Girdwood Area Plan Survey Results

People are certainly passionate about Girdwood!
Based on the exceptionally large number of folks who responded to the recent Girdwood Area Plan Survey, and their sometimes colorful language, the message comes through loud and clear that people have strong feelings about our valley.
The survey’s high return rate is particularly noteworthy because this was not an easy survey to complete. Unlike the increasingly common telephone surveys that require only a verbal response to multiple choice and true/false questions, the GAP Survey asked for written responses to open-ended questions, which sometimes resulted in responders adding their own additional pages.
The Municipal Planning Department is currently engaged in the very arduous process of tabulating and analyzing the survey results. The results will be presented to the community at the next GAP Community Forum, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, 7:00pm at the Meadows Community Hall.
The Girdwood Area Plan Review Committee thanks those who took the time to respond to the survey, and encourages everyone to come to the April 11 Forum with your questions and comments.

The information stated in the March 15, 2007 edition of the Turnagain Times article misrepresented our company’s service to your community. Any information about Alyeska Towing not providing towing service to the Turnagain Arm community is incorrect. We want to take this opportunity to put the facts in order. Our base of operations for the Turnagain Arm community is in Girdwood and, as always, continues to provide the best service(s) possible for your community.
