The City of Whittier will hold its regular Municipal Election Tuesday, Oct. 7. Three City Council seats are open and a mayor and vice mayor will be chosen.
Seat E currently held by Dave Goldstein, has three candidates competing: Arlen Arneson, Shawni Phillips and Shannon Tolman.
Seat F pits Mayor Lester Lunceford against challenger Chuck Price.
And for Seat G incumbent Pete Heddell is being challenged by Mary Brenneman. That seat has two years remaining of the three-year term. The other two council seats are a full three-year term.
After the election, the City Council will submit nominations for Mayor and Vice Mayor and at its Oct. 21 meeting council members will cast their votes.
The voting polls will be at the Cullum Room on the first floor in the Begich Towers. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
