TROOPER REPORT

The Alaska State Troopers reported the following incidents. Any charges reported are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Warrant Arrest
GIRDWOOD—On Jan. 1 at around 1:30 a.m., Kylie Briske, age 20 of Palmer, was arrested on an outstanding $250 warrant for failing to appear for her arraignment on a criminal charge. Briske was contacted near mile 102 of the Seward Highway after she drove her vehicle into the ditch. Briske was transported to and lodged at the Anchorage Jail.

Assault
GIRDWOOD—On Jan. 1 at approximately 1:45 a.m., a Trooper responded to the Alyeska Resort Hotel in Girdwood following a report that a woman had punched another person. Upon arrival an investigation revealed that Laura Wade, age 25 of Anchorage, was intoxicated and unable to find her hotel room. She attempted to enter another adjacent room and became involved in a confrontation with the occupants. Wade eventually punched and kicked one of the female occupants. The victim did not require medical attention. Wade was transported to her Anchorage area residence. The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are expected to be forwarded to the District Attorneys Office.

Indecent Exposure/Criminal Trespassing
GIRDWOOD—On Jan. 1 at approximately 2:30 a.m. a Trooper responded to a Taos St. address in Girdwood following a report from the home owners that a male dressed in only a T-shirt was sitting on their couch asleep. An investigation revealed Richard Sexton, age 33 of Anchorage, was intoxicated and had entered the residence thinking that he was somewhere else. He was unaware as to why he was clothed in only a T-Shirt. The homeowners came home, found Sexton and detained him, and then called the Troopers. Sexton was released to a sober adult. The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges of Trespass 1st Degree and Indecent Exposure 1st Degree are being explored.

Driving While License Suspended
GIRDWOOD—On Jan. 6 at 12:27 p.m. Troopers arrested Grant M. Matthisen age 44 of Wasilla for DWLS. Matthisen was contacted as a driver on a traffic stop within the Seward Highway Traffic Safety Corridor for a moving violation. Matthisen was issued a traffic citation for the moving violation and released on his own recognizance with a summons to appear in court for the DWLS. Matthisen’s vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
